Tanya Naiman
Tanya Naiman was born in 1952 in the city of Voronezh, Russia. She studied art at the Minsk School of Fine Arts and received a master's degree in mural painting at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts. During her studies, Tanya received classical art education with strong emphasis on anatomy studies, painting from live models, and the laws of classical perspective. She practiced canonic painting techniques and others such as fresco, stained glass, mosaic, icon painting, and more.
After graduating, Tanya worked as an artist in the national film studio Belarusfilm and participated in numerous international festivals. At the same time she continued painting and exhibiting her artwork.
In 2003 Tanya immigrated to Israel and devoted herself entirely to her biggest passion - painting, seeking inspiration in the humanistic tradition of Classical Art. Influenced by the renaissance and baroque masters such as Michelangelo, Botticelli, Caravaggio and Rembrandt Tanya focuses on depicting the human body while exploring the relationship between the human figure, light and shade. Tanya uses mostly oil paint which she applies on canvas using multiple transparent layers.
The paintings of Tanya Naiman took part in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Israel, USA, UK, Russia and Belarus. They are highly appreciated and collected by art lovers all over the world.
